The Sunday Post #22 | Relaxing and Big Weekend

I think I’ve spent close to 12 hours travelling to various places. I’m fine with that because I’ve been home to Hull for the week. Since I have officially finished at my three years at University, post coming soon. My mum and I had planned to have a week together. I headed home on Monday morning very early meaning I had to get the metro at 7 o’clock in the morning. If I’m being honest, I’m having to get used to early-ier mornings and I think I’m getting there! It’s wasn’t that much of a struggle to get out of bed.

Family Time:

This week has been the perfect week for me. I’ve spent time with my family and ‘extended family’ in case of cousins and aunts and uncles and it’s been great. I’ve been able to fill them in on my adulting life *I’ve got a full time job*, what’s been happening and talking about finishing Uni and jus generally catching up with them all.

Mum and I have spent a lot of our evenings – Thursday – Sunday doing a 1000 piece jigsaw but we’ve not managed to get in finished so Mum has been trusted with the job of finishing it off and supplying me with pictures! We also headed to Bingo one evening and I won, so that just topped the family time off!

Thinking:

I did some things this week that I used to do every week 3 years ago. I found myself on a bench I used sit on regularly thinking about life, as I used too, and thinking about what has changed in the last 3 years but how strange it is to find myself back in this place, doing what I used to do so regularly back then.

Big Weekend:

Grace invited me to go to Big Weekend with her this Saturday and it was brilliant! I’ve created a playlist of the artists that I went to and would have loved to see. It’s included it a little bit further down, so go have listen to that. It was such an amazing atmosphere. However; I’m still not used to people such as Greg James and Katy Perry saying Hull, or the fact they were in it.

*It was held at Burton Constable Hall, just outside of Hull but still classed as Hull*.

Katy Perry headlined the Saturday and we considered leaving early, but everyone loves a little bit of Katy Pez. So we ended up staying for her whole set. She did miss a trick not having any fireworks going off during Firework. I can’t decide whether seeing Kasbian Live was the highlight of my day. Or Biffy Clyro but they were both top notch.

I’m currently having a good old jam to this playlist on the train back to reality. I’m enjoying the relaxing before returning to the grind of normal life tomorrow morning!

What have you been up since I last posted, let me know in the comments.

So jealous you got to head over to R1 Big weekend!! Looks like you had so much fun… Also love the jigsaw part, I bought one recently forgetting how big it actually is and managed to get a few pieces together and gave up because I literally couldn’t figure it out, maybe I should drop to a 500 piece one for now and go back to my 1000 puzzle later haha. My boyfriend laughed at me when buying it and then laughed when I had to put it all away again, what a bugger!

I love a good jigsaw! This one was harder to start with the edges than it was to do the middle which was a nice change! Give it another go it’s a good challenge!

I’m so jealous that you got to go to the Big Weekend, I’ve always wanted to go but I’ve never made it! Seeing Katy Perry would have been such a highlight for me as well! Good on you for winning Bingo too, I love to play but I never seem to win! Great post!
